War and Peace

Your War and Peace dives include detailed onshore briefings, transport via a purpose built high speed wreck diving boat and the assistance of our highly trained instructors who will personally guide you on both wrecks.

After being picked up from your accommodation, you will be transported to Matauri Bay where after a history lesson, you will dive arguably one of the most moving dives sites in New Zealand.

Festooned with jewel anemones, and a myriad of fish life, she is an underwater memorial and advocates artificial reefs as a way of promoting marine life and conservation. The Rainbow Warrior lies on the seabed between 18 and 27 meters and you spend around 35 to 45 minutes on and around the wreck.

We will then travel down the coast to Deep Water Cove which is around 40 minutes away by boat. Lunch is available before diving the Canterbury and returning back through the Bay of Islands to Paihia. Return to your accommodation, and relax, and enjoy the delights of the Bay of Islands.

Minimum dive guideline

Both the wrecks are deep dives, with minimum dive guidelines. You are required to have 15 logged dives for the Canterbury and 35 logged with an Advanced Certificate for the Warrior. You must have dived in the last six months. No problems if you have just dived our Twin Wrecks, and the Poor Knights Islands part of Dive the Five, we will already know you! You may have just done your Adventure dive with us or be completing your PADI Advanced certificate as part of the Dive the Five.
