Twin Wrecks Steel Adventure

Your Twin Wrecks Steel Adventure includes detailed onshore briefings, transport via a purpose built high speed wreck diving boat and the assistance of highly trained dive masters and instructors who will personally guide you on both wrecks.

The wreck trips run three times a day. The first trip is at 8.30 to the Tui and then we return to shore for our surface interval, before diving the Waikato at 11.30am. There is a third trip to the Waikato that runs at 2.30pm. Choose the dive that suits you best in your schedule. The later departure allows for a relaxed drive time from either Auckland or further north and means you can reach your next destination in plenty of time.

Both the wrecks are deep dives, with minimum dive guidelines. You are required to have 15 logged dives for the Waikato and 35 logged (with an Advanced Certificate) for the Tui. You must have dived in the last six months.

If you have less dives, you can still dive the Waikato - a special Adventure Dive with an Instructor (which count towards an Advanced certification) is available. If you haven’t dived in more than year, then a two dive day at the Poor Knights Islands is suggested on day one.

You may decide to complete your PADI Advanced certificate as part of the Dive the Five. The HMNZS Tui and HMNZS Waikato are large navy vessels specifically prepared for adventure diving before being sunk at diver friendly depths. Purpose cut access and exit points allow exploration of guns, bridges, control areas, helicopter hangar, engine rooms, cabins and crew areas.

Accommodation is based on twin share, and dinner can easily be included in the package.
